

Alyce Villa (Lee), 83, of Pompano Beach, Florida went to be with the Lord and join her loving husband Harvey in Heaven on Sunday, May 5, 2019. Alyce was the loving mother to three children – Harvey Jr., Melanie DeBeltrand (Pat), and Nancy Kniskern (Rob); loving grandmother to Ashley Fuori (Mike), Matthew DeBeltrand (Haley), Kellen Villa, and Alana and Chase Kniskern; and loving great-grandmother to Lily, Delaney, Ethan and Maggie.
Born in Pompano Beach, Florida on February 9, 1936, Alyce was the oldest daughter of Henry and Clara Lee. She was the valedictorian of the 1954 graduating class of Pompano Beach High School. She was proud to be a Beanpicker and played an active role in organizing many class reunions throughout the years. Alyce married the love of her life, Harvey Villa on August 12, 1956. In 1959, she and Harvey moved to Clark, New Jersey, where they lived and raised their family before returning to Pompano Beach in 1977. Alyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Pompano, the Pompano Beach Historical Society, the Hillsboro Harbor Civic Association, and the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society. As a member of one of Pompano Beach’s pioneer families, she possessed a vast knowledge about her hometown and loved to reminisce about growing up in Pompano and talk about how much the city has changed over the years. She also enjoyed following city and national politics, researching her family tree on Ancestry and keeping up with family and friends on Facebook. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family, her country, and Jesus. She will be missed by many.
Alyce was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey, and her older brother, Joseph. She is survived by two sisters; Edna Stolar of Morrow, Georgia, and Henrietta Taylor (Jack) of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia; as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Friends may call from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, May 10, 2019, followed by a funeral service at 11 am at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Rd., Pompano Beach. Interment to follow at Pompano Beach Cemetery.
