

She was born November 29, 1919 in Lyons, Kansas to Louie John Beyer and Gwendolyn
Markle Beyer.
Cathleen attended Bethany College and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree
in Music Education. She received a Masters Degree from the University of Rochester School of
Music. Cathleen lived most of her life in Lindsborg, Kansas where she taught music, both
strings and vocal, for 29 years in the Smoky Valley School District. She was an active member
of the Messiah Lutheran Church where she served as the choir director for many years.
Cathleen, who started playing violin at age five, came by her musical talent naturally. Her
mother was a pianist and her father played trumpet. Cathleen played both violin and viola
and was an active participant in area orchestras both in Lindsborg and Bella Vista, Arkansas,
where she and her husband retired in 1985. She was a member of the United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, as well as a lifelong member of P.E.O.
Cathleen was predeceased by her husband Clifton Wayne Robinson in 2006. Survivors
include her daughter Gwen Nunes of Pompano Beach, FL., her son Charles Riggs of Palm
Desert, CA., stepsons Larry Robinson of Ft. Myers, FL., Gary Robinson of Phoenix, AZ., step
daughters Peggy Robinson of Marion, KS., Judy Robinson of Sun Lakes, AZ., half sister Diane
Perett of Arlington, VA., and many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family is extremely grateful to the many caregivers in the Ft. Lauderdale area that
befriended her and helped to make her journey in later life a little easier.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on October 17th at 11:00am at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Lindsborg, Kansas.
