Can not put into words how much I loved you daddy!  Your unconditional love will be sorely missed! Your way to see positive and good in all of us, even when we faltered. This is the legacy I will try to continue to pass on to my family and friends. You always said "Do not turn back, but learn, go on and cherish what you have."  You and mom always said "Do not judge what others have done, unless you have walked in their shoes!"
  I think the "The Sanscrainte Secret" that we have joked about about for so many years, is your legacy, to continue to build and nourish our own families with LAUGHTER, forgiveness and most importantly love.

     Grampie...I am beyond thankful to have had you as my grandfather for the past 18 years. You have always been so supportive and always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. I will always remember you sitting up in the stands of every sports game I ever played in. I really wish you could've come watch me this year, but I know you were always watching the live stats.
My favorite memories of you were always when you would mess around whenever Aunt Marcy or my mom were trying to do something serious. Like whenever we would take family pictures you would always be goofing off and trying to mess with Aunt Marcy and do anything to try to make any and all of your grandkids laugh. My favorite memories come from the family dinners with you. One of them is probably when we were at Aunt Marcy's for dinner and you said something that made her so mad that she threw a fork at you. I remember sitting around the table just laughing about that for a good 20mins. Another favorite memory of mine is when you and all the men of the family sat around the tv watching Blazing Saddles and quoted every line of the movie. 
     I will always cherish the time that we all went up to Savannah for Thanksgiving my freshman year of high school. We were on the way back from the Mexican restaurant everyone in the family calls "la nipple" and the moon was the brightest and fullest moon I have ever seen. You howled at the moon and read every sign on the way back just to annoy my mom and make Caitlyn and I laugh. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did that night. 
     You lived the fullest life imaginable and you were loved by everyone you came into contact with. Family dinners and holidays won't be the same with out you, but we know that you're watching us from above with Gramie and making everyone in heaven laugh.

Uncle Sandy was not part of my family but he became a part of ours.  There was never a time we didn't laugh or listen to all of the wonderful stories and life experiences he shared.  In other words there was never a dull moment and there was always laughter.  Thank you (all of you) for sharing Uncle Sandy with us. He will be remembered and in the hearts of everyone who has had the opportunity to have known him.  Our thourghts and prayers are with all of you.

Gramps….there isn't a memory or a life moment that he wasn't a part of! Not sure any kid could have had a more loving, fun, oddball, make you roll your eyes grandfather. When I try to pick some of the highlights it's very hard…..riding in the back of the big pickup truck, listening to Johnny Mathis and other oldies on 8 tracks in the car, getting to “help” wash and wax the cars, shuffling us off to go “rock hunting” for his rock garden, going to the park, numerous beach days and even letting me use his metal detector (of which he was very jealous when I found the gold watch and he didn't), countless days spent in the pool, helping him in the jungle he created around the backyard, every Sunday dinner at their house with his favorite appetizer of  saltine crackers with cheese and dash of Worchester sauce, laying on the floor in front of the tv with his arm up in the air as he tried to stay awake, his love of foot baths and massagers, being a fan in the stands at pretty much every game we kids ever played from little league thru college and then over the years of coaching, every birthday or special occasion in our lives, every other random day that was spent over the years just being gramps, the array of names we were called,  seeing just the kind of man he was as he cared for gramie for so many years and giving her all the love and attention she deserved, trekking up to Lakeland with mom just to visit me and go shopping at my store, the past 3 summers I was fortunate and blessed enough to road trip with he and mom up to Buffalo “the Odyssey” which provided me with more memories than I could have ever hoped for, seeing the prideful man he is as he was welcomed home from his Honor Flight with fellow WW2 veterans, feeling the love and pride he had for us kids in conversations over time, listening to great tales of the good old days was also a favorite.
 
Perhaps my most treasured memories are of Christmas morning. Every year without fail, gramps (and gramie) spent every Christmas morning with us, no matter how early we wanted them or how old we got, he was always there wearing some crazy hat or shirt or pajama pants….typical grampie.  Always saying, “I didn't get anything from Santa”, yet his stocking was ginormous and full of goodies and usually a wacky game with some sort of weird contraption attached to the head haha. Gramps was always about family and generally the life of the party. Always laughing, always talking and telling stories….some we understood, others we just nod and go along with. A man who made an impression on anyone he came in contact with, but especially to his granddaughter.  My memories are a little all over the place, but that is kind of how gramps was, you had better be paying attention or you might miss 10 trains of thought in a 5 minute conversation. Always in my heart!

Grampie, I will always remember when I was little going to the beach and the park to "cruise for chicks".  I will cherish the last few years of our conversations and time together.  I learned so much about you and gained so much knowledge by finally learning to sit and listen to you and I am very thankful for that opportunity.  You are truly one of a kind and I will miss you a lot.

Grampie, I'll always remember you taking me to the beach and park when I was little so we could "Cruise for chicks".  I'll remember the past few years of our talks and my understanding of you as a person and a man growing into so much more.  You were truly a one of a kind individual and I will miss you.

Uncle Sandy was most definitely one of a kind, in every way possible! Of all the "adults" with whom I grew up, he was the one who was always unpredictable. He would inevitably do or say something hilarious that would cause the other adults' eyebrows to twitch, much to our delight! One of his outstanding talents was his ability to grow anything and everything. I don't know what supercedes "green thumb", maybe Super Green Thumb! He turned his Pompano Beach backyard into the Amazon Rain Forest - stunning, so full of life, and every color under the rainbow! He later tended his childrens' gardens with his magic, loving touch. In all my life, I've never met anyone with even half his talent to coax vibrant life out of any plant. I now believe that the living plants were just returning his love! To say that he entertained us on a regular basis would be an understatement. He constantly created new nicknames for all of us kids, causing extreme eye rolls as we grew into our adolescent "sophistication". But eye rolling or not, we knew we were deeply cherished. He was a joy to behold! Now he is home, tending the ultimate Garden, where Joy was created. God bless.

Uncle Sandy is cracking them up in Heaven now!  He was for sure the funniest and sweetest of all the uncles.  I'll miss his great sense of humour and his "sound effects".
