She was the beloved daughter of Anne Thomas. Connie, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
After her graduation from Miami Carol City Senior High School, she embarked on a calling of motherhood, dedicating her life to her sons Martin and Adolphus. She worked for Dade County Public Schools for over two decades, spending most of her tenure at Benjamin Franklin Elementary.
The children at the school were her passion as was her desire to provide an environment of health and light. She also loved to depart kindness and wisdom to those in need.
Connie is survived by her husband Rodney Gibson, her mother Anne Thomas, her son Adolphus Thomas, her sister Rhonda Schottenheimer, her nephew Austin Schottenheimer, her grandchildren Justice, Santonio, Dreon, Maverick and Sierra, and her great grandchildren Khloee Noelle, Kamryn Rose, Sarabi, Nylah and Jasiri. She also leaves behind cousins and other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Those who knew Connie will remember her for her infectious laughter, radiant smile, deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and her unwavering commitment to share her knowledge and experience with everyone she encountered.
She had a rare gift for making others better, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. Although Constance’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. As you sleep with the Lord, Dear Connie, your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
