David Santiago, a father, brother, son, passed away June 13th, 2025 at the age of 71. Born on January 28th, 1954 in the Bronx, New York. He was the second born child and first born son to his parents, Angel and Carmen Santiago, who have preceded him.
Growing up and working in the Social Work field with troubled teens who needed guidance, David grew to be a no nonsense man. Despite his hard outer shell and tough composure, deep down inside David was a softie who managed to show his love and care for others in whatever ways possible even when he didn’t have to.
David loved many things such as long drives down the beach, looking at houses to admire the beauty in them, collecting pieces of art, scrolling through Facebook late at night, old black and white movie classics, calling his children because he was bored and wanted to know about their day, and listening to music way too loud for him. He loved when the sun would shine into the living room and make the room brighter so he could sit in the light God provided him.
Known as “Deebo” his younger brother Steven, “Pops” to his sons Justin and David, and “My Bestfriend” to his daughter Angel, David will forever follow, guide and protect those he loved dearest. He was a devoted family man, survived by his sons, David and Justin, and his daughter, Angel.
In accordance with his wishes, a cremation will occur, and a memorial service will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home to honor his memory.
David Santiago will be remembered for his crazy jokes, long gossip sessions over the phone, and his wild obsession with having Coca Cola with every meal he ate. For providing everything he didn’t have growing up to his children and always caring about people through good, bad, and worse.
