Born on January 17, 1957, in Waukegan, Illinois, she moved to Pompano Beach, Florida, with her family in 1967. She proudly graduated from Pompano Beach High School as a member of the Class of 1975, a community she remained connected to and cherished throughout her life.
Nursing was more than a career—it was her calling. She devoted her life to caring for others with compassion, skill, and unwavering dedication. Her patients, coworkers, and friends knew her as someone who always advocated fiercely for those in her care.
She was outspoken, compassionate, fiercely strong, and full of love and laughter. She never hesitated to speak her mind, stand up for what she believed in, or make those around her smile. She found joy in volunteering, crafting, traveling, and making memories with those she loved. Above all, she adored her beloved corgis, Padme and Lucille, who brought endless happiness to her life.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Charles Edward Schroeder Sr. and Vivian Lorraine Schroeder. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eric; her loving children, Brenda (Matthew) and Kevin (Carly); her stepchildren, Christi and Colin (Jill); her cherished grandchildren, Caylin, Teagan, Camden, Tristan, and Barrett; and her brothers, David (Rhonda) and Charles, along with many extended family members, lifelong friends, former colleagues, and classmates who will miss her deeply.
Her strength, kindness, laughter, and unconditional love leave a legacy that will continue to live on in everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing she is finally at peace and forever watching over those she loved.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Big Dog Ranch Rescue reflecting her love of dogs and cats who deserve a better life.
