Bunny was born May 26, 1933 in Middletown, New York, to Thomas and Dorothy Rugane. She attended Middletown High School where she was active in the sports, the drama group and president of a number clubs as well as Head Cheerleader for the High School Football team. Bunny continued her education at Orange County Community College, where she graduated with an AA degree in Liberal Art. She was member of the first graduating class of 1952.
Bunny’s life was defined by her love of family and friends. She lived her days to the fullest, embracing new experiences with childlike curiosity and fearless independence.
Bunny enjoyed many interests. Art, she painted watercolors. Acting, she starred in several plays produced by the Chappaqua Theater Group. Travel and photography go hand in hand as one of Bunny’s most favorite pastimes. Her home was filled with the sound of her lovely singing. Bunny also dabbled a bit as a NYC Fashion Model.
By far her most fervent passion was participating and viewing sports be it golf, tennis, swimming, skiing, sailing, kayaking or fishing.
Bunny founded The Rugane Development Corporation in 1983. She and her son Christopher worked side by side to sustain this successful business until 2003.
Retirement found Bunny cruising the world with her husband Allan Ross including
The Caribbean, Bermuda, Alaska, Great Britain, the Mediterranean and several other European locations.
The Hotel du Lac was almost a second home as Bunny’s and Allan’s trips to Lake Como were frequent. The perfect day included riding the ferries up and down the lake stopping to enjoy the gardens, a leisurely lunch alfresco and toasting the sunset with apero spritz in hand.
Bunny was preceded in death by her father Tom Rugane, and her mother Dorothy Rugane.
Bunny is survived by her husband Allan Ross; daughter Lisa Ramos, sons Tom Kinne (wife Celybeth) Christopher Tomkin (wife Paula) Craig Ross (wife Denise Nelken) and
Amy McGoldrick; sister Laura Brooker; grandchildren Alex de Oliveira, Kyle Kinne (wife Andrea), Natasha Kinne, Andre Ross (wife Kaitlin) Evan Ross (wife Jazz) Anthony Bodanza and Jaydon McGoldrick (wife Jess) and seven great-grandchildren.
