Ethel M. Reece, 86 years young and a charter resident of the Township of Coconut Creek, Florida and 63 resident of South Florida passed away on May 4, 2019. She was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 15, 1932 to Ettore and Livia Bartolomei. (predeceased) Ethel graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago, Illinois.
Ethel married George Kozuch (deceased) and had two daughters, Linda and Sandra. The family moved to Florida in the 1950's where she began her career in bowling. She married Ray Glasco (deceased) and blended the family with Cheryl, Gary and Dale. Ethel married Bill Reece and further blended the family with Marty, Carol, Connie, Becky and Tony.
Mom was known by many. All and everyone who bowled in the 1950-2000's new her, loved her, or was influenced by her talent, encouragement, dedication, and advancement to the sport of bowling. She was a legend.
As Ethel Glasco, proprietor of Glasco's Pompano Bowl, she coached many students and was known to have a wicked left hook ball. She was a pioneer in the professional woman's bowling circuit and won many awards, trophies and national championships.
As Ethel Reece, founder/owner and BOSS of the Competitive Bowlers Association, the CBA, she operated the bowling tournament for 21 years throughout the South Florida. Throughout her professional career, she traveled the globe and made many friends. She enjoyed her retirement playing cards at the VFW Post# 157 in Margate. She will be missed at the tables and by her card buddies.
Ethel is survived by her two loving and devoted daughters, Linda S. Musser (Neil), and Sandra K. Thompson.
Grandchildren, Pamela H. Thompson (Corey), Mark A. Bishop (Maria), Ryan S. Bishop (Natalie), and two great grandsons, Argus and Lev. Brother Rudy Bartolomei (Doris), and an abundance of cousins, nieces and nephews, and the many lives she has touched. She is forever in our hearts, our memories, and our souls.
