Gayle Maureen McCallum passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 7, 2025 at the age of 82. She was an artist, teacher, historian, storyteller, expert in Egyptology (she taught herself to read hieroglyphics) and adored Greek mythology. She was a jewelry maker and a world traveler, a proud mother and grandmother - one of a kind, and never ordinary.
She is survived by her daughter, Maureen (Burdine) Roberts, her son-in-law, Craig Roberts; her beloved grandson, Sean; and many cousins near and far.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Harold, and by her parents, Roger and Marie (Hill) Lucchese.
A visitation will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home @ Forest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, on August 11, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 731 N Ocean Blvd, Pompano Beach, FL 33062, on August 12, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064, on August 12, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm.
