She married Arthur Katras when she was 17 and came to the United States and lived in Manhattan,
Astoria and Bayside before moving to Pompano Beach, Florida, a place she called Paradise on Earth.
She first worked rolling cigarettes, packaging candies on an assembly line, seamstress in the Garment
industry and finally as an operator finishing mink coats.
Helen had one child, a daughter, Molly and two grandsons, Steve and Tommy. Pauline and Steve have
one son, Christopher; Lori and Tommy have two children, Marc and Madison.
Helen's hobbies were needlepoint, crocheting, swimming and of course cooking and baking delicious
Greek dishes and cookies.
She will be remembered for always having a positive attitude and making everyone feel special. Helen touched the
lives of everyone she met in a very special way. Her answer to anyone asking, "How are you today Helen?" was
"Just Wonderful."
