She will return to West Long Branch, NJ where she will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery alongside her husband of 48 years, John “Jack” Kramer.
Jean was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey to John and Ethel (Rugarber) Schneider on 5/30/1921. She attended Asbury Park High School and Penn Hall Junior College before returning to the Asbury Park High School where she worked as a secretary to the Principal and later to the Guidance Department for over 30 years.
Jean and Jack moved to Pompano Beach in 1987 upon retirement. Following Jack’s death in 1996, Jean moved to John Knox Village in Pompano Beach where she lived until the time of her death. She enjoyed her years at John Knox Village, where she volunteered each week at the RAS shop, socialized with many friends and made daily 6:00 AM visits to the JKV pool. She was an avid sports fan, never missing a Tennis tournament or Dolphins football game on TV.
Jean is preceded in death by husband, Jack. She is survived by her son, John Kramer (Kristine) of Rotunda West, FL and her daughter, Karen McAteer (Kevin) of Holliston, MA. She also leaves five grandchildren – Heather Hartshorn (Mark), Kirsten Heller (Mark), Kevin McAteer Jr., John McAteer (Jen) and Michele Halper (Mike). She also leaves four great grandchildren – Henry Hartshorn, Max Hartshorn, Nolan Halper and Scarlet Jean Halper.
