Jeanne Cavan, age 82, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on June 20, 2024. A resident of Pompano Beach, Florida she is predeceased by her parents, Chester Straining (Gearldine) and Corinne Wathen (Joseph), husband, Drew Cavan, her son, William Tenny and her grandson, Dennis Cavan. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Anthony, grandchildren Derek Cavan (Tonia), Sandra Walker (Robert), Lindsay Anthony, William Tenny, Delaney Tenny, Mack Tenny and great grandchildren Joseph Davis, Derek Cavan, Mackenzy Ruh, Caitlin Cavan, Sebastian Walker, Laurie Thomas, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Before moving from Levittown, Pennsylvania Jeanne spent most of her married life working with her husband in the insurance business. Once in Florida this continued and then was followed by several years with Catholic Charities. She worked hard and got her Associates degree in Social Work at the age of 57. She enjoyed traveling, reading, drawing, painting and spending time with her family and couldn’t stay away from Fox News!
While our hearts mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. A private service will be held at a later date. She will be interred at the South Florida Veterans Cemetery with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Friends of the Lighthouse Point Library.
