Jeff was born July 7, 1972, in Creve Coeur, Missouri to Marilyn Jean (Hoelting) Van Pelt and Theodore Wayne Van Pelt. Jeff joined the United States Navy in 1990 and served his country admirably while stationed in Honolulu, HI, Guam, and San Diego, CA. Jeff was honorably discharged from the United States Navy as an E5 in 1995. Jeff was a devoted father and enjoyed the outdoors, especially surfing. He brought smiles and laughter to his friends and family.
Jeff is survived by his daughter, Angelina Van Pelt and her mother Cecilia Acevedo; his son, Kai Van Pelt and his mother, Monique Harris; his mother, Marilyn Van Pelt; his father, Ted Van Pelt; his sisters, Jenna Scolaro (Timothy Scolaro), Julie Harris (Jordan Harris), and Luray Oppedisano (Rocky Oppedisano); his nieces and nephew, Rocco Oppedisano, Ashley Oppedisano, and Emma Scolaro; Jeff is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward S. and Lois Jean (Suddarth) Hoelting; his paternal grandparents, Milton Henry Van Pelt and Eleanor Virginia (McCreary) Van Pelt.
He is loved and will be deeply missed.
