Johanna Teresa Niemann was born and raised in New York City. She graduated from Cathedral High School and Marymount Manhattan College both on the upper east side of NYC. She worked for years as an elementary school teacher and also taught for the Army overseas in Germany.
Johanna was the daughter of Rose and August Waldhofer and sister to William Waldhofer and was married for 46 years to Ernst Niemann Jr. all of whom preceded her in death. She was the wonderful mother of son Ernst Niemann III and daughter Monika Rose Gomez; and loving grandmother to granddaughter Claudia Rose and grandson Mateo Gomez.
Johanna and her husband raised their children in New Hyde Park, NY and then she and her husband retired to Pompano Beach, FL and then Coconut Creek, FL. Johanna also spent many years in Silver Spring, MD.
Johanna loved dancing, playing cards, and sharing in the special occasions of family and friends, especially those of her true blue, Hilda Taschek and her family. She was the tie that bound her family in the US to beloved relatives in Austria. She was a consummate hostess, a wonderful cook, and a total ball of energy. We will miss our Mom and Omi.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnnorth.com for the NIEMANN family.
