Condolences to John's family and loved ones from an EHS classmate.

My condolences to John's family and loved ones.  I had the pleasure of working with him many years ago at Jacobs and Goodman in Altamonte Springs.  His office was right next to mine and we often worked together researching legal issues and handling cases.  John was one of the most caring, respectful, and professional attorneys I have had the pleasure to work with in my 25 years of practice. I have thought of him often over the years and his passing has certainly made heaven a better place.  God bless John, know you are missed.

John, I thought about you today [I don't know why] just thought about you and the fun we had working together many years ago and then I saw that you left us.  You were the kindest man, intelligent, and so professional and a friend for many years.  May God bless you, R.I.P.. . .my prayers thoughts to you, Julio, as well.

Even though you aren't blood, I am incredibly honored to call you Dad. You took me in, with open arms and taught me so much over the years. I wouldn't be where I am today if it hadn't been for your love, support and guidance. Not only were you an incredible dad, you were an amazing grandpa to Avery. You were her pal, her world. She loves you more than words, and you loved her the same. I will remember, cherish and hold all of our memories close to my heart.

Although we didn't work together long, I could tell you were a very kind and intelligent man.  I hope you are at peace.

John, I wish I could have spent more time with you over the years.  The last time I saw you was at the family reunion in RI a few years back.  Wasn't able to attend the recent reunion in Florida due to distance and health issues.  You were a very special person--so kind, loving, and caring.  I'm sure, by now, you have had quite a reunion in Heaven with your dear mother, Agnes, your grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins & friends who have gone before you.  Until we meet again one day, John, rest in peace.

I'm so glad that we were able to get together over the last couple years to be reacquainted since we were kids. You know our lives get busy and before long we lose track of time, but it is amazing how we just pick up the pieces from that time (47 years ago) till now. We are still the same folks just older and I have the fondest memories of that time, as well as the time my wife Judy and I recently spent with you and Julio in Florida. You are true Irishman to the bone and very passionate to your roots.  I will miss you as you've made a mark on my life, as well as many other folks. May you rest in eternal peace with our Lord.

Time passes 35 years since I have seen John.  I still often think of our crazy high school days and college summers.  John, you will always be part of my memories.   Godspeed my friend!

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of John. Growing up in Connecticut, he was always one of my favorite friends. His quick wit, roguery and charm got us in and out of trouble in our high school drama club. Our bantering continued even thru dress rehearsal one year. My attempt to even the score was to tie his shoe laces together. Because of his costume, no one else could see why he hobbled out on stage during his curtain call. Those of us back stage marveled at his grace and mischievous grin, knowing something would be coming back our way! He was just as smart as he was funny. We all enjoyed being around him. John was a rare gem, whose brilliance brighten the world. We will miss him dearly. Love and prayers to his family and friends.

John, you were an amazing, funny, caring and one of the most courageous people I have every known.  I'm so glad I was able to get down to see you and Julio last year.  I was so in hopes to see you again this year but it wasn't meant to be.  The love you had for my Dad and Del meant so much to him and to me.  You were like another son and brother, I know his heart is broken, as is mine.  My heart goes out to Julio and the rest of your family.  You fought a good fight and now it's time for you to rest and be at peace.

John,   You put up such a long and courageous fight against this horrible disease that has taken so many of our loved ones. Even though distance has kept us from seeing each other often, I truly admire you for keeping us informed about our Irish ancestors. We all looked up to you for the wonderful and caring person that you were. I know that now you will be with those who have preceded you into Heaven. Your mom Agnes, Grandma and Grandpa, my mom Anna and all our other relatives up there will be greeting you. No matter how busy you were you always found time to listen. You always encouraged me to take a leap of faith and things will always workout. When I moved to Florida and had no place to go for the holidays you always opened your home and made me feel welcome. I was very blessed to be able to call you my friend and to have had you in my life.

There's no word that can express how sorry we are to hear about the death of our Beloved Cousin John!  Although we knew this day would arrive, it was John's fighting like an Irish Warrior with McSweeney and McNamara blood in his veins that kept this cancer at bay!  This horrible cancer took his life from us before we could all meet again this summer.  I still cannot believe it however, I know John is free of pain and happy now to be with his Mom (My Godmother Aunt Agnes), Grandparents , Aunts, Uncles and Cousins in heaven. We know our family members that have passed queued up to hug him, and not even St. Peter or St. Paul could control the Irish welcome John received! John was a thoughtful and wonderful person, and well loved by so many. I really appreciated John's sense of family, and the hours of research he conducted on our Irish heritage. He shared that knowledge with us all and our beloved relatives in Ireland. My heart goes out to Julio especially. The beautiful selection of photos that are but a glimpse into John and Julio's life well lived with happiness, and the profound love they had for each other. During these difficult days for us all that mourn the loss of our beloved John, may our prayers unite and give us strength to cope with this sad loss to our large family. My sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to my dear Uncle Fred and Cousin Mike: and a special embrace to all my Cousins in America and Ireland. Love to you all. Peace to you my dear Cousin John. By the way, John, don't you and Cousin Charlie play jokes on Aunt Mary!! Aye, the potential for mischief in heaven increased tenfold now!!

We are so sad to lose such a gentle soul.  Our family Matriarch.  You are forever in our hearts.   I am so honored to have spent your last days by your side as you entered into our Lord's arms. John,  Your life expressed a love and commitment to your family and friends that was an inspiration to us all.  We are so glad we got to share in it.  As you struggled through your own illness, you tirelessly coached my mother through hers and then grieved with us in her passing.  You made us all laugh with your sharp wit until we had tears in our eyes.  While we are mourning, the heavens are rejoicing. We look forward to laughing with you again one eternal day.

Dearest John, Our hearts are broken in losing you.   You are a gentle soul full of good natured humor and a passion for fairness.  We believe nothing and no one is ever lost.  The loving place where you are now is an even better place because of your spiritual presence.  Eileen & Abelino
