A longtime Lighthouse Point resident, John Fontaine, 83, passed away quietly on February 20, 2024 at Hospice by the Sea surrounded by his loving wife of 48 years, Gale Fontaine along with family members and close friends.
John was a Veteran in the Air Force and served as a medic. After his honorable discharge, he became a longtime bartender with a mass following of loyal residents. John lived life to the fullest and in 1996, John and Gale opened Bingo at 4 Corners. His extended family then grew to include the many loyal patrons, volunteers, and employees who loved his zest to make them laugh and his passion to spread happiness. It is through the Bingo Hall that they proudly donated to a multitude of Broward and Palm Beach County Non-Profit Charities. John will be sadly missed by his immediate family, by his Bingo Hall Family, and by a vast amount of friends in our community.
A memorial services will be held on February 29, 2024 at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL 33064. Gathering will begin at 2:00pm followed by service at 3:00pm. A Celebration of Life for John will be held following services at Bingo At Four Corners, 2466 N Powerline Rd, Pompano Beach, FL 33069.
