Jon Edward Hicks, an honorable war veteran of the US Army, as a paratrooper assigned to an air recovery unit with the first logistical command in Vietnam and was promoted to squad leader and granted a security clearance. And when his wife Linda asked him why would you pick jumping out of a plane? He replied it paid $75 more.
Jon passed away on August 15th, 2026, peacefully. The son of Eugene Hicks (Father) and Anne Hicks (Mother). Born November 23rd, 1947, in Hackensack, New Jersey. He had a few jobs selling jewelry, Landscaping, to name a few. He was a realtor and became a top salesman for Merril Lynch Realty. Won four sales awards. He left when he went to Alaska and made more money playing pool. Later got his Electrical License and worked on the Alaska PIPELINE for years. He would come back and forth to Florida to see his mom, and one day walked in with his nephew where Linda was working and told him I am going to marry that, Girl. Jon and Linda were 33 years married when he passed, they got married on July 23rd, 1994.
Jon was straight forward, tuff at times, but had the biggest heart, and was always helping his loved ones, and his fellow Veterans to get what they deserved. Jon Survived by Linda Hicks (Wife), John Lancsak IV (Stepson) & Spouse Olga Lancsak with his 4 Step grandchildren John Lancsak V, Hunter Lancsak, Gustavo Concha and Enrique Concha, He also survived by his sister Sandra Jean Hicks Wike.

Day one: Visitation and Prayers When: Friday, August 21st, 2026, From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Day two: Burial Service followed by Military Honors
