It has taken me a few days to process and accept the Lord’s will in calling my beloved cousin Oscar into His embrace. He was a successful physician who touched countless lives throughout his long career, but above all, he was a truly remarkable human being. He had a kind and selfless heart—loving, genuine, and generous.

I don’t have the words to describe the immense sadness my heart feels at his passing. He always held a very special place in my heart. Even if time passed without seeing or speaking to each other, whenever we reconnected, we could spend hours catching up on everything happening in our lives, as if no time had passed at all.

I will miss him dearly. I hold on to the faith that one day, we will meet again in the spiritual realm.

My deepest condolences to his beloved mom, Yayi, his siblings, and the entire family. May the Lord give you strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time, and may the beautiful memories of Oscar and the love he shared remain forever in your hearts.

Oscar was the best friend anyone could wish for. Generous almost to a fault, a quiet sense of humor like no other, and I'm so thankful that I was introduced to him  and the group by Frankie  37+ years ago. 

I'll cherish the laughs and fun we shared over the years. Be well my brother,  we'll catch up in the next life.

I am so very sorry to hear about Dr Naveira’s passing. I was fortunate to work with him the last 2-3 years. Dr Naveira brought  peace and calmness. He was always a pleasure to work with. His bedside manner was remarkable and he was always very polite to the staff. Dr Naveira will be remembered for  his genuine personality, his kindness and professionalism. We will miss his discussions in the break room too. RIP Dr Naveira. 🙏🏻❤️

It is with great sadness to hear the loss of such a good man. Oscar was not only a great anesthesiologist, but he was amazing friend. Querido Oscar,

Me duele profundamente saber que ya no estás. He pensado mucho en ti desde que recibí la noticia. 

Hoy siento una tristeza muy grande al pensar que, aunque en algún momento te escribí para animarte y decirte que contabas conmigo, no te llamé ni te busqué más para acompañarte en todo lo que te abrumaba en estos últimos tiempos. Ojalá hubiera estado más cerca.

Te despido con tristeza, pero también con gratitud por tu amistad. No te olvidaré jamás.

Descansa en paz, querido Oscar.

La primera es de nuestros años de universidad, cuando la vida apenas comenzaba y estábamos llenos de sueños, risas y hermosas memorias. Con el tiempo, ya graduados y trabajando —Oscar en medicina— seguíamos conservando esa cercanía que nos unía desde aquellos años.

La segunda fue la última vez que vi a Oscar, cuando vino desde Florida a visitar a nuestra querida Linda durante su enfermedad. Nunca imaginé que ese encuentro sería también una despedida.

Hoy mi corazón está profundamente triste. Oscar fue un amigo muy querido, un ser humano noble y generoso. Lo recordaré siempre con cariño y gratitud.

Linda también se encuentra en los brazos del Señor, y que ambos descansan en Su paz.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Dr. Naveira. I retired from Holy Cross Health six years ago, but I knew him well during my years working in the pharmacy. Every so often, while I was on shift, he would call my mobile to ask if I could come help resolve an issue he was having with his anesthesia Pyxis medication‑dispensing system.

Upon arriving, one might expect a physician to be frustrated or upset about a malfunction interrupting their work. Dr. Naveira was never that way. He greeted you professionally, with a mild‑mannered, cool, and calm demeanor that immediately set the tone. The steady environment he created made it easier to focus, troubleshoot, and resolve the problem quickly.

He was a medical professional whose gentle, kind, and gracious spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

May you rest in God’s care, Dr. Naveira.
