

Jamaica. He was the fourth child of the late Rev. Windsor Holland Hart and Zelma Ione
Whilby-Hart. He attended Vaz Preparatory School located in Kingston. At the age of ten
he successfully passed the Common Entrance Examination which gained him entrance
into Titchfi eld High School in Port Antonio, Portland. Joseph developed an insatiable
appetite for table tennis where he spent relentless amounts of time playing aft er school.
He graduated from Tichfi eld High School in 1977 with seven Ordinary Level subjects.
Shortly aft er graduating high school Joseph began working for Royal Caribbean cruise
line, where he enjoyed meeting people from several diff erent backgrounds. Joseph was very
sociable. Many people compared his calming personality to the calmness of the ocean.
Aft er moving to the United States Joseph worked in retail for 15 years. His great enthusiasm
enabled him to explore other job opportunities. He later became a bank fi nancialist.
In his forties, he was encouraged by one of his sisters to become a nurse. In time he
became a Cardiac Registered Nurse and worked for Broward Medical Center for 10 years.
On November 23, 1983, Joseph married his wife Angela, whom he deeply adored.
From that union three beautiful children were born Synteche, Jared and Jordan.
Joseph loved being associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses and later made the ‘Truth his
own’ by dedicating himself to Jehovah God through water baptism. He enjoyed talking
to relatives and others about the Bible and Bible based publications. His loyalty and
faithfulness to his Creator right down to the end of his life, epitomized the truthfulness
of the Christian faith. Joseph will be missed greatly by his family and fellow believers,
all of whom eagerly look forward to seeing him again in the promised Paradise.
Joseph was an extraordinary husband, father, brother and friend. His kindness,
gentleness and humbleness will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
His life will forever be cherished in the hearts of his wife Angela Hart, one daughter
Synteche Hart, of Pompano Beach, FL; two sons Jared Hart and Jordan Hart, of Pompano
Beach, FL; eight sisters Jean Hart, of Toronto, Canada; Jennifer Britton, of Jamaica; Rita
Burton (Rodney), of Jamaica; Hilma Hart, of Jamaica; Janice Hart, of New Haven, CT;
Halcy Henry (Roderick), of Bridgeport, CT; Maxine Brooks (Hayden), of New Haven,
CT; and Vincie Hart, of New Haven, CT; one grandson Jared Jr., of Pompano Beach,
FL; mother-in-law Eloise Phillips of Alachua, FL; a special cousin Dwight Whilby, of
Atlanta GA; a special mother like fi gure, Mrs Millicent Watson Branch, of Jamaica; and a
host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law and friends.
