

She was born on July 15th, 1926, in Miami, Florida. She was the youngest of six children to Salvatore and Josephine Palumbo.
Jo graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1934. After high school, she went to beauty school where she worked as a hairdresser for many years.
Jo had four brothers serve in the Armed Forces during World War II. Jo remained at home with her father, mother, and sister during this time. She was always so grateful that all four brothers returned home from the war.
In 1956, Jo met Gerald Fisher from upstate New York. After five years they married in 1961. They were married for 55 years when Gerald passed away at the age of 96. Gerald and Jo settled into their home in Pompano Beach, Florida where Jo resided for 61 years until this past April.
Jo was an outstanding cook and baker. She loved the color pink and beautiful flowers, especially orchids. Jo never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Dancing with the Stars. Jo described her grandchildren as “so much fun”.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jo was predeceased by her sister and four brothers. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Fisher) Gulasa and her husband Ronald Gulasa, her son Mark Fisher, and his wife Celeste (Chinelly) Fisher. Jo is also survived by four grandchildren, Danielle (Gulasa) Permenter, Michael Gulasa, Amanda (Zammas) Morales, and Tommy Zammas. She is also survived by four great grandchildren Shepard Permenter, Avery Permenter, Arianna Morales and Jace Morales.
A service of remembrance will be held at 3pm on August 19th, 2022, at Christ Community Church, 901 E. Mc Nab Rd, Pompano Beach, Fl 33060.
A memorial mass will be held at St. James Catholic Cathedral, 215 N. Orange Ave, Orlando, Florida on Friday, August 26th, 2022, at 10am.
