Joycelyn Patricia Griffin known to everyone as "Pat" was born in Saint Ann, Jamaica, West Indies on June 27, 1935. She attended St. Joseph's Girls School and Providence Elementary School. After leaving Providence, she attended Shortwood Teacher Training college from which she graduated in December 1958. She taught at MICO Practicing school and also Papine Senior School.
She migrated to New York to further her education in 1967. She later moved to Los Angeles where she lived and worked until 1969. Being far away from her many friends, she returned to New York, where she worked at Chemical Bank for 22 years. She also attended Brooklyn College and Pace College as a part-time student.
In 1991 Pat retired from Chemical Bank and relocated to Coral Springs Florida. Unable to remain a retiree, she began working at World Savings Bank in November 1992 as a Customer Service Representative. She also became a member of Saint Mary Magdalene Church where she made friends and participated in many church activities. She loved to entertain and to dance.
Pat is survived by a host of friends and other relatives.
