A Graveside Service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00am at Forest Lawn North Memorial Gardens, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida 33064.
Keith was born in Chicago, IL to Fred (“Bud”) and Arlene Blackstone (nee Vondersmith) on October 22nd, 1929. He graduated with Honors from Fenger High School in Chicago, IL, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He subsequently earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees from the University of Chicago. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. He earned his Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) license and advanced to senior financial executive positions with Fortune 500 firms General Mills, National Lock, Chiquita Brands, Triangle Pacific, Fuqua Industries, and Pacesetter Corporation. He also operated a successful tax preparation and accounting service during his distinguished career.
Keith was an avid athlete. He especially enjoyed playing tennis. He was also a talented singer and drummer. His favorite performers were Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, and Gene Krupa. Keith enjoyed reading financial publications and classical literature. Agatha Christie was among his favorite authors. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox.
Keith was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be missed by all. He is survived by his daughters Rhonda Watkins (nee Blackstone) and Dawn Blackstone, his sons Scott Blackstone, Esq., and David Blackstone, his grandchildren Dava McCoy (nee Brown), Brett Brown, Grant Brown, Ben Blackstone, and Taylor Miller, his great-grandchildren Quinn McCoy and Timothy McCoy, his sons-in-law Dr. Kurt Miller, Paul Watkins, Esq., and Dale Brown, his daughter-in-law Karen Blackstone (nee Hodge), and his grandson-in-law Patrick McCoy.
