My sincerest condolences to the Dunne Family. Coach Dunne was the Assistant Coach at St. Bonaventure when he, along with Head Coach, Jim O’Brien, recruited me to attend their School. Coach O’Brien eventually took the job at Boston College and I had some eligibility issues at the Division 1 level. It was Coach Dunne that recommended to his close friend who was the Head Coach at Florida Tech, the late, great Tom Folliard, to give me a Scholarship. I’ll be forever grateful and thankful to Coach Dunne for making that happen. May he Rest in Peace.

Beach excursions, many happy hours, Friars basketball weekends, 
Celtics and Red Sox games and much, much more.
We did it all KD and you were the one constant throughout the
journey.
Rest in peace coach. You were always a cherished friend and I will 
never forget the bond we shared. You will be greatly  missed.

I'm still coming to grips with the fact that after 60 years of friendship, I'll not hear your voice again.

Even in later years, after you moved to FL,, the phone calls that could go well over an hour. Laughs, debates, but always about sports - especially college and pro ball.

The visits to FL and trips to your favorite hangouts for drinks and food - and the debates!

I wish for more but know that'll never be.

Rest in Peace Good Friend. The photo posted here is a true and fitting image of the fun you and we all had while we were at PC. As a diehard Celtics fan like you...I remember our many conversations about our beloved Celtics. I had no idea that you were born in Fall River ! As a New Bedford kid we had more in common than I thought. 
You have been in my prayers. Now I know that you will be playing pickup games in Heaven with Russell, Havlicek, and Walton. When I join you ...I will be standing courtside waiting for you to select me to play in one of those games. Love you KD. Bats/Bill Batty

Kevin the four years I  roomed with you and Jack Durkan at PC were among the best years of my life.  We shared a love of basketball and have been rabid Friar fans all our lives.  As Jack has often said we were the three amigos.  I and all our Friar brothers will miss you but we know you’re in a better place and your ordeal is over.

Kevin "KD" Dunne was an absolute gem of a roommate for 4 years along with Don Drouin at Providence College, Providence RI from 1966-1970. He had a passion for Basketball above all else, which we discussed on a daily basis and his friendship with me and all he came into contact with were the most important part of his daily life. He loved all sports involving Boston and kept up with all of them. God bless him in Heaven for the sacrifices he made throughout his Life for those that surrounded him including his many friends, students, coaches from his time growing up in Danvers to the place he loves in Fort Lauderdale. God bless you Kevin.
