Lawrence Schott

Lawrence C. Schott (Larry) of Pompano Beach FL, age 85, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2025. He was born on May 16, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Edward and Claire Schott. Larry was a graduate of Coraopolis High School. He served four years in the Navy with an honorable discharge. He was a devoted husband to Adria Troyan Schott whom he was married to for 60 years.

He was an amazing father and a loving grandfather known as Poppie. He worked as an insurance agent for New York Life for forty plus years. He qualified for Chairman’s Council several years, the highest honor council in New York Life. He was very involved with his church over the years. He discipled young men, served as a deacon and was very loved by his church family.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Edward Schott, Robert Schott and Charles Schott and his sister Marylou Schott McMarlin. He is survived by his wife Adria Troyan Schott, his daughter Tammie Schott Strickland and her husband Bob Strickland from Atlanta GA along with their children, his grandchildren, Annie Strickland and Wes Strickland and his daughter Tracy Schott Ellis from Coconut Creek FL and her children, his grandchildren, Grant Ellis and his wife Kate Ellis, Kyle Ellis and his wife Aubrey Ellis and Emily Ellis as well as sisters in law and brother in law and nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 3 at First Baptist Church Pompano Beach with a reception following the service. Address: 138 NE 1st St Pompano Beach, FL 33060
