FLAHERTY, Lorraine I., 91, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away on December, 17, 2013 after a long illness. Born in Greenpoint, NY on November 22, 1922 to Joseph and Mabel Immen, she is survived by her daughter Pam and son-in-law Bayard R. Coolidge of Lighthouse Point, Florida. She graduated from Newtown HS, Elmhurst, NY in 1941 and went on to study accounting at CCNY. In 1948, she married John Flaherty, and the family lived in Roslyn Heights, NY, where she served as a school crossing guard for many years, until his retirement from the NYPD in 1973. They moved to south Florida in 1974, and she was a unit secretary at North Broward Medical Center for a few years. After John passed away in 1993, she was very active in the Leisureville community, serving on many committees. She also enjoyed travelling and spending time with Pam and Brandy in their summer home in Hendersonville, NC, and loved her “grandcats and granddog”. We love you, and until we meet again, we'll miss you terribly.
