I just wanted to let you know,  my son served with Marlon. He and his wife are expecting a baby and they are going to name him Axel Myrie Scott Smith. Jordan wanted to remember Marlon forever. 

I can't believe its been 3 years already, You are forever missed and loved by my family. Everyday Kareem is Growing soo big and looking more and more like you. RIP ,It is said when God takes them home he takes the best. You fall in the category, your legacy will live on through Kareem even though you are not here physically I know you are here spiritually with him protecting Kareem day and night. RIP

I ran a 10K "Run for the Fallen" in Tampa in honor of Sgt Myrie last month.  I never knew him personally but we knew alot of the same people and I served in Iraq at the same time as him.  I'm glad I took the time to learn about him and will add him among the growing ranks of fallen Marines I keep in mind every day.  Semper Fi.

To the family of Sgt. Marlon E. Myrie:
Marlon gave the ultimate sacrifice and will be held in the hearts of Americans forever. I cannot and will not let our fallen heroes be forgotten. My deepest sympathy to you. "Some gave all."

There was no better man than Troy. I went through SOI with him back in 2005 and we were assaultmen together in 3rd battalion 6th Marines. It is sad to find out that my brother has fallen but just know that because of him I am alive today. He will always live through me and every soul he has touched with his love, friendship, and kindness.
