Loving daughter of Maria Isabel Aslan and the late Francisco Roberto Aslan, sister of Asuncion Marchese, the late Roberto Aslan, and Lisette Serrano (Angel). Loving niece of Olimpia Gonzalez, cousin of Jorge, Evelio, Felix and Osvaldo, and aunt to Yaquelin, Denise, Daniel, Janette, Diana, Rachel, Zander, and Zane.
Martha was an independent accomplished single woman who immigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of 8 and achieved financial independence owning several properties while dedicating her life to working for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office where she served 34 years.
Friends were important to Martha, she cherished the time she spent with them.
Martha’s main focus was her family. Regardless of her schedule Martha always made time for her family. Sharing meals with her family was a way of sharing her love. Special memories of these times include spending time at Mami’s kitchen table having coffee and cake or ice cream (her favorite treat), going to Chili’s for Presidente Margaritas, Duffy’s for biscuits and gravy, and making her delicious paella.
For Martha, her fur babies were an extension of her family. She doted on them and ensured their every need was met before her own. Spoiling them bought joy to her life and in return, they offered unconditional love. Max will be lovingly cared for by her sister Lisette and their mother.
Her sisters and nieces will always remember how Martha would light up when she noticed a handsome man and with a twinkle in her eye would say jokingly while blowing kisses in her best Italian accent, “Bambino molto bello. Bellissimo!”
Martha was a strong-willed woman who battled cancer for nine years with courage, dignity, and faith. A devout Christian, Martha had complete faith in Jesus and loved him above all things.
She will be greatly missed by all!
Grant her Eternal Rest dear Lord.
