Its hard to write this, I've been putting if off.  It's like I do not want to say good bye and I won't, it's till we see each other again. I never really understood the word grief till now. I am trying to be strong. You were my best friend, you knew all my secrets better than anyone else. You were always there for me unconditionally ALWAYS, you listened to my problems, gave me advice, you kept me strong even when we were apart. Thank you for all the love you gave Michael, Madeline and me.  I admired you so much.  I told you this so many times my sis so many times, and what a special person you were to all of us.  I will miss your good morning and evening texts just following up on our day.  I will miss your friendship, your great big hugs, your I love you more, your laugh, your silliness that made me crack up no matter what.  My sweet sister I will keep our promise that we made many times throughout the years that if ever one of us was not around that we would be there for each others kids, rest assured that I will be present in their lives always.  Looking at them I will see you and the wonderful mother you have always been.  One day we will be together again, what a beautiful day that will be.  Till then my beautiful sister.  I love you and will miss you everyday of my life!  Rest in perfect peace.

I've been taking the time to think about what I need to say about you. Because to be honest, it still doesn't feel real to me that you are gone. You would always give me the biggest hugs, giggle loud and tell me, 'Oye, te voy a dar un pinazo'! It was your funny way of making things funny and not too mushy.  I love you to pieces and I know you knew that. You were the reason we all got together. Even now, it was almost impossible but, somehow, you made it happen so that we can say, see you later, one very last time. We shared a lot in common but, the one thing that I always told you is how much I admired you for being so kind, so loving and the best mom. Thank you for being like another sister to me. Know that everyone loves you for being such a true and genuine human being. That is something that comes from within and cannot be taught. I would tell you this and you would laugh and giggle loud and smack me on my arm and tell me, 'you're so crazy, Omayra' to disguise your teary eyes that only showed your humility in its truest form. I loved that. I'm gonna miss seeing you and getting your random FB messages asking me how we are. I love you eternally. Till we meet again, Martika.

To my big sister,
I am so glad I was able to spend time with you this summer. We had such a fun time, I will always remember the way you would bite my arm, or the way we would kid around and whisper funny remarks and then laugh until it would hurt.

I was out of town and Michele just informed me about Martha. I am so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you, Maria, Peter and her entire family and your entire family.  We met over 25 years ago at ATC Long Distance when we both worked there.  Our cubicles were next to each other and I loved coming to work every day to see your beautiful smile.  We struck up a great friendship that endured the test of time.  We were pregnant at the same time and we shared so many laughs together.  You even loaned me your maternity clothes and even the beautiful family bassinet! You had a warm and generous heart. I will never forget the beautiful family gatherings you had to which we were invited.  You were always so welcoming.  I will never forget you my sweet friend, and you will live forever in my heart.  May you rest in everlasting peace in God's warm embrace.

I remember my first vivid memory of you.. Kindergarten, rolling Peter in the cafeteria of Sandpiper Shores because he had a broken leg. I remember thinking, even as a 5 year old, how amazing Peter's mother was. I remember a few years later at one of Peter's elementary school birthdays, you taking care of me like a second mother when someone threw a water balloon at my face during a water balloon war. You warmed my heart. When we started working at Sandpiper aftercare together I was so happy. Even though I had a ton of things going on, walking into that cafeteria at 2 PM always made my day. Because you were there. Always giving the best advice, being so open, loving and really keeping me positive in many situations.. I can't think of anyone else who quite had your spirit. You have a beautiful soul, and I will forever miss you. I wish I had the opportunity to hug you once more and see that bright smile and hear you say hello and automatically brighten my day. Something I will never forget. I was blessed to have known you and I will miss you forever. I love you! XO rest in peace.

Thea Martha, thank you for always treating me like one of your nieces. You welcomed me into the family with open arms and lots of laughs. I will always remember you constantly taking pictures. You captured so many memories from weddings, to baptisms to baby showers. Everyone will always have your memory in their hearts. Rest in peace, you will be missed.

Peter, knowing what a lovely young man you are tells me, and the world,  what a wonderful and gentle mom you had.  She had to have been an amazing woman to   have been blessed with a son as kind, compassionate and loyal as you are.  You are a credit to her memory.  Stay strong in the coming days. I look at them and I am so proud of who Maria and Peter have become and that's all because of you. Martha... Words cannot describe how sad I was when I heard the news. All I can say is that you were always full of happiness & your smile always lite up the room. You were one of the sweetest & kindest people I've met. I remember how tight you would hug me & Nicolas even though you didn't see us often. You will forever be remembered as the cutest little cubanita I know! I wish we could have spent more time getting to know each other better. My thoughts & prayers are with all of the family. Thea Martha, I have always looked up to you ( no matter how short you are). You were so welcoming and comforting that I could talk to you about anything and you always knew what to tell me. All the memories I have of you since I was a little girl I will cherish forever. You where gone too soon, but I'd like to think your still around evey time I see someone smile. Martha, I'm going to miss you so so much. I'm sitting here going through photo albums of you and your beautiful family and I can't help but smile. You can truly see how much love you had for your family and how much they all love you. I will always remember you by your beautiful smile and your positive energy. You always made me feel welcome in your home. I was so lucky to have a boyfriend with such an amazing mother who accepted me. I knew I could talk to you about anything because you were always so understanding. I cherish the time I got to spend with you and I'm so glad to be a part of your family. Martha, I will miss you very much. It was a pleasure to have met such a wonderful person and to consider myself your nephew. I'll watch the Heat games and remember you (I'll get a chuckle watching Pepe Billete videos).

My dear, sweet Auntie Martha. I remember when I was little there was nothing I liked more than swimming and playing in your pool at your and Uncle Nick's apartment complex- you were so young. When we moved to California I couldn't wait to come visit and stay with you in Boca. Every moment with you until now was happy and special and I'll cherish those memories for the rest of my life. I feel fortunate to have spent time with you by the ocean and the mountains in New England before you were taken from us too soon. I love you with all of my heart and I know you will be watching us and smiling down from heaven. Until we meet again Auntie Martha.

My dearest Martha, may you rest in peace.  You were much more than a Sister-In-Law to me, you were a true friend.  I will miss your contagious smile that always lead to a giggle.  I will miss our big hugs, and our conversations that always ended in "I love you".  I will miss my friend.   

You impacted all our lives in such a positive way that no words can describe.  This is not a good-by, but merely ending our conversation with I love you and see you soon.

I first met Martha back when we were both in our late teens and she had just begun dating Nick, and her warmth became instantly evident: love, laughter, and joy were so much a part of her, as well as in every word and smile she directed to those around her.
