I got to know Mike during his high school years at Carol City High School where I served as head baseball coach. Mike also served the baseball program as our equipment manager. He always showed a giving spirit and helped the team by organizing equipment, keeping statistics, and helping with transportation. He attended our 2nd Carol City Baseball Reunion in March of 2019. It was great to see him rekindle many fond memories of his years with the team. At our Baseball Banquet at the conclusion of his senior year, I said “This world is full of givers and takers, Mike Bodine is the true meaning of a giver.”

I just found out today that you passed away. I am so grieved. We had such fond memories at Miami Carol City High School. I remember after cheer-leading practice, you piled all of us in your car and took each one of us home. You had such a heart! We will miss you so much at the baseball reunion and class reunions. My heart is heavy knowing Dave and I won't see you there, but you will always be remembered in our hearts. Dave and Karen Heimbold

I met Mike 47 years ago at Miami Carol City High school. We met in the Auto Body and Repair class, we became friends and repaired and painted many cars together. In the eleventh grade my sister was getting married and I didn't have a date, Mike suggested that I ask his sister to the wedding, I did and was fortunate that she accepted. A few years later after High School my friend became my brother-in-law. Mike thought enough of me as a person and his friend that he entrusted me to marry his sister Jo Ann. We have been married for 42 years, and have a beautiful family, thank you Mike for helping in shaping the direction of my life.

I was one example of how Mike befriended people, and weather he new it or not help shape their life. He married Shirley and help raise Bailey to the man he is today. Another example is how he helped Jannette and Eddie for many years when they were down on their luck.

Mike it was a pleasure having you as a friend and a bother-in-law. I will always remember your kind smile and thoughtful demeanor. Life moves on, but memories don't. You may have gone away but our friendship is right here...in my heart. I will miss you!!

I’ve known Mike for 45 years as a coworker and friend. Most importantly he lived life as a good person that always cared for others. Mike (aka the Florida Moose), you will be missed.

I met Mike in high school at MCC. I was in his first wedding and met my wife at his wedding. I have been friends with Mike for over 40 years. We lived a long way from each other, but we remained friends all these years. He will be dearly missed.
