Michael Patrick Burns

Burns, Michael Patrick, age 60, of Coral Springs, Fl. passed away August 30, 2011. A native of Fort Lauderdale, Fl, born on February 20, 1951 who attended St. Anthony Catholic School. Graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas, High School in 1970. Mike attended BCC and graduated with an Associates Degree in Hospitality. He proudly served for his country in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and continued to be involved with the USMC after his discharge. Mike loved the USMC and was Semper Fi. He was a member of the American Legion. Mike was an active member and usher at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Michael was employed at Sears Roebuck of Ft. Lauderdale for 15 years and later went on to work in the transportation industry prior to his retirement..

Michael is predeceased in death by his father Robert M. Burns, Sr., his mother Eleanor B. Burns of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, and brothers Robert M. Burns, Jr of Wyalusing, Pa., and John B. Burns of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

Michael is survived by his sisters Suzanne B. Brown (William) of Coral Springs, Fl, Pauline B. Lindstrom (Eric) of Jacksonville, Fl, Marianne B. O'Connell (Thomas) of Coral Springs, Fl and brother William H. Burns, III (Patty) of Marathon, Fl as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces.

Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn North, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL (954) 784-4000 on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 between the hours of 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Mass service to be held at Forest Lawn North, 200 West Copans Road on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 between the hours of 1:00 p,m.- 2:00 p.m. Internment to immediately follow at Forest Lawn Central at 499 N.W. 27th Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
