Nick was an amazing friend, mentor, teacher, artist. I cherish the first I met him at a Greek function at the adult education center in Boston, from there we worked together to teach young students the symbolism of iconography, from there I was blessed to assist Nick in restoring the Icons at St Constantine & Helen in Cambridge MA after a fire, then to randomly find him sitting in a church in Aegina, then to host him in my home as he worked. He taught me so much about life, art, the aesthetics of art and the life of love, prayer & perseverance. Thank you Nick always. In another life, another time, I'd have loved you to the end of the world & back xoxox

I shall always treasure my memories of Nick listening to Byzantine music as he painted his most memorable Icons, and our chanting together at Saint Mark's.
His acerbic wit and infectious laughter masked a beautiful and sensitive soul. May his memory be eternal.

Nick and I were best friends at the University of Florida. We had breakfast in Boca Raton about 15 years ago and he gave a small framed icon that I will treasure. My sincerest condolences to the family. I always had fun with Nick and his Dad. Vince Perla Scottsdale, Az.
