His early years were spent in St. Ann and Kingston where he completed his early education at Ferncourt High School and Wolmer’s Boys School.
Norman’s interest in the Arts and Communication led him to pursue a career in broadcasting/journalism. In 1974, he studied Film Production at New York University and was awarded a diploma in Mass Communication at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. Norman later worked at one of the two well-known radio stations in Jamaica called RJR, where he hosted a nightly show, in which he played soothing music and gave nightly commentaries. He was known as the “Night Hawk”. He was also involved with the production of off-site live entertainment concerts which he hosted with other well-known radio personalities.
In his later years, Norman relocated to the United States where he resided in Brooklyn, New York and pursued several entrepreneurial ventures. Norman attended St. Michael’s Spiritual Church where he was involved in local missionary work such as visiting the sick and financing church needs. He also volunteered his time teaching reading and writing skills to individuals in his community. His last place of employment was Time Warner from which he retired.
In recent years, Norman moved down to South Florida due to his declining health where his final residence was in Boca Raton, where he passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon.
