Resident of Fort Lauderdale, Osvaldo Casas, MD passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Cuba, to Jose and Catalina Casas. Osvaldo was a graduate of the University Havana Medical School, class of 1949. He married Emilia Hernandez on October 24, 1949. Emilia passed on May 26, 2013 after nearly 64 years of marriage. Osvaldo is survived by three loving daughters, Aurora Haniff (Omar), Esther Clark (Joe) and Josefina Casas. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Courtney Gordon (Adam), Yasmin Haniff, Julian Clark, Joseph Haniff and Emily Clark and one great-granddaughter, Kendall Gordon.
Osvaldo was a practicing physician for 50 years. He established a successful private practice in Lauderdale by the Sea. He was the happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, good food and baseball, especially the Florida Marlins. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor and his very generous heart.
A celebration of his life will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Clement Church in Wilton Manors, Florida. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
