For those lucky to have known Paula, undoubtedly the words loyal, witty, listener, funny, all come to mind. Paula was also consistent; her authentic kindness touched many, from her youth through a life across country, the globe and back again, and to those with whom she worked with in recent years in south Florida.
While growing up with her (6) siblings in Latrobe, PA, she was lovingly known by her parents as ‘Sniffles’. Paula had a passion for Ikebana, Japanese floral arrangements, which she studied while living in Kobe with her then-husband, Hans. It was in Japan when she first became known as ‘Mom’, as she will forever, lovingly be known by her two children; daughter, Marken (Ryan Patrick) and son, Eric (Dana Leon). She is also survived by granddaughter, Melania, who had known her by a special name: ‘Nana’.
Paula shared ikebana with her granddaughter as they planted her first flower garden together weeks ago. The sun shines on those flowers and all who miss her warmth, her uncanny ability to just listen, and her laughter.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, mother, Dorothy Mahoney and father, Jack F Mahoney.
For those who have kindly asked about a service or where to send flowers, for which her family is so grateful, this page will soon be updated with those details.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.forestlawnnorth.com for the Bredholt family.
