Peter James Martin

Peter "PJ" Martin, 74, of Pompano Bch, FL, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015. Survived by his wife, Susan Martin. Loving father to Paul Martin (Gigi), Melanie Lakey (Steve), Gina Gardner (Greg) and Antonia Hellekson (Dean). Proud "Pop Pop" to Connor, Lauren, Andrew, Justin, Carly, Payton, Azaleah, and Isaiah. Born August 27, 1941, in Orange, NJ, he moved to Hollywood as a teenager with his parents John & Antoinette Martin. PJ flew for National Airlines and PanAm for over 25 years. He founded and operated a successful advertising newspaper in South Florida. Also a licensed boat captain, he enjoyed the ocean, the Keys and the Islands with his family and friends. A gathering will be held at Kraeer Funeral Home 200 N. Fed. Hwy Pompano Beach at 1pm on Saturday, December 12, with a Celebration of Life service at 2pm and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the special rehab fund that PJ established for his daughter, Tonya.
