

Philip Capece, of Pompano Beach, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2024, he was 94 years old. Born on February 28, 1930, in White Plains, New York, Philip was a man noted for his willingness to help, caring nature, thoughtfulness, and generosity.
Philip was deeply devoted to his family, having been married for 72 years to his high school sweetheart, Lucille Gresis. The couple wed on December 9, 1951. He was a loving father to Lois Zanzano (Dennis), Kathy Leone (Joe), Phyllis Park (John), and Christine Doherty (John). His legacy extends to his seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory.
Educated at Eastchester High School, Philip furthered his studies at Louisiana Polytechnical Institute during his military service. He served as an Air Force Staff Sergeant from 1951 to 1955, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Philip brought light-heartedness to his service, often joking that the war ended because they knew he was coming.
Professionally, Philip was briefly a jeweler before joining the family plumbing business. Over time he eventually branched out into his own successful business. His entrepreneurial spirit was admired by all who knew him.
Philip was a man of faith, actively involved in IHM Eastchester, New York, and St. Gabriel's in Pompano Beach, Florida. His hobbies included bowling, umpiring for Pony / Colt League Baseball, playing golf, and watching Notre Dame Football and the New York Yankees, passions that filled his life with joy and excitement.
Forest Lawn in Pompano Beach, Florida, will manage a memorial service on November 2nd from 1:30 to 4:30. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Hospice of Palm Beach County, Hospice by the Sea, Trustbridge, or to a charity of your choice, honoring Philip’s compassionate spirit.
