Ralph J. Siciliano, 98, died Oct. 8, 2019, at his home in Wynmoor Village adult community, Coconut Creek, Fla. Born Nov. 1, 1920, in New York City, he lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., for many years before moving to Florida. Prior to his retirement, he worked as part of the International Longshoremen's Association in New York City, serving as a stowage clerk, initially for the United Fruit Company and later for the Venezuela Lines.
He was predeceased by his parents, Michelina Baldino Siciliano and Giovanni Siciliano; a brother, Vincent Siciliano; five sisters, Antoinette Capoccia, Elvira Meduri, Loretta Lombardi, Gloria Branscum, and Susan Papandrea. Surviving are his wife, Rose Tagliavia Siciliano; the three children he had with his first wife Lea Siciliano, Robert J. Siciliano, and his wife, Linda Jean, of Manalapan, N.J., Donna Siciliano, M.D., and her husband, Stephen Haug, M.D., of Larchmont, N.Y., and Ralph A. Siciliano, Esq. and his partner, Steven Rosandich, both of New York City; four grandchildren, Karen Siciliano Lucas, Esq., and her husband, Kevin, of Chevy Chase, Md., Lauren Siciliano, and her husband, John Conte, of New York City, and David Haug and Russell Haug, both of New York City; two great-grandchildren, Charles Lucas and Jack Lucas, both of Chevy Chase; two sisters, Yolanda Rose Nodine of Derwood, Md., and Marie Bizzaro of Brick, N.J.; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ralph was active in many clubs and organizations at Wynmoor, including the Monday Night Dance Club, the Italian Club and the local homeowners association. An excellent chef, he offered many cooking demonstrations on Wynmoor closed-circuit television. He enjoyed dancing and was active at the Gold Coast Ballroom in Coconut Creek and at the Wynmoor ballroom.
A viewing is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, at Kraeer Funeral Home, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Fla. Services are set for 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at the funeral home. Interment services will follow in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 South State Road, North Lauderdale, Fla.
