Raul Delgado Jr

Raul Delgado Jr. passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. After a courageous fight, his body was tired, and he was finally able to rest. Raul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Raul, affectionately known as Paul, was born in Philadelphia on January 18, 1959, to his adoring parents, Raul Sr. and Roseanne Delgado. He enjoyed a lively and memorable childhood filled with family, laughter, and plenty of excitement. His family home was often visited by famous ballplayers, much to the amazement and envy of his friends. Raul also assisted his father with interviews, operating a reel-to-reel recorder while his brothers and sister happily tagged along.

As a young man, Paul enjoyed playing baseball and hockey. He was also an exceptionally talented bowler and took great pride in training many young boys who went on to become professional bowlers. Family was always at the center of his life, and many evenings were spent around the table playing cards—often with Paul and the family losing a little money along the way!

Paul graduated from Neshaminy High School in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, in 1976. He helped his family with several businesses before beginning a long and successful career in security. Through hard work and determination, he worked his way up to operations manager and supervisor positions with organizations including Dow Chemical and Bethlehem Steel. He later served as a Homeland Security supervisor working on the docks and had the honor of providing security for notable events and dignitaries, including President Barack Obama and Pope John Paul.

Above all else, Paul was a loving and devoted father. He was always there for his children—Paulie, Ginny, Will, and Bobby—and for their friends. If someone needed him, Paul was there. There was never a moment when he wouldn't do whatever he could to help the people he loved.

In 2018, Paul moved to Florida to be with the love of his life, Cathy. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with some traveling, many quiet days holding hands, and, most importantly, precious time with their grandchildren. Paul loved his work at a gated community in Boca Raton, where he enjoyed talking with the residents, getting to know them, and forming genuine friendships. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help someone in need.

Of course, Paul also had a personality all his own. He wasn't afraid to give a little attitude to anyone who thought they could get the best of him—a move affectionately known as “getting Delgado’ed.” He loved teasing, creating a little chaos, and, most of all, making people laugh. He could turn an ordinary moment into a memorable one. And there was one thing no one should ever have attempted: debating him about his beloved Philadelphia Eagles or Philadelphia Phillies!

Paul is survived by his father, Raul Delgado Sr.; his brothers, William (Sherri) and Edwin (Siany); his sister, Rose; his daughter, Virginia; and his sons, William (Brooke) and Robert.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Roseanne; his brother-in-law, Robert Kenney; and his son, Raul III.

Paul's world revolved around his family and, especially, the children he loved so dearly. He is lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephew, Kendra (Chris) and their children Olivia, Owen, Faya, and Adley; Lauren, Zach, Sara, and Danielle; his grandchildren Jasmine Waters (Robbie), Jacob, and Charlie Rose; and his great-grandchildren Melanie and Nathan.

Paul leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, stories, and love. His presence touched countless lives, and his absence will be deeply felt. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love, humor, loyalty, and generosity he gave so freely to his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's honor to a charity of your choice.

A private family viewing will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 1:30-3:30 at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn, 200 W. Copans Rd., Pompano Beach, FL 33062
