Craig, Robert L, 74 of Lighthouse Point, Florida passed away on January 1, 2012. He was born in 1937 in Flint, Michigan and moved to Florida in 1947. He graduated from Pompano Beach High School and attended Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida on a four year golf scholarship. Golf was his passion and he was taught by the famed Tommy Armour. Bob appeared on the cover of Tommy Armour’s book “How To Play Your Best Golf All The Time”. He was also the head golf professional at the Deerfield Country Club. He and his family owned and operated Deerfield Furniture Company in Deerfield Beach, Florida from 1947 to 1975. Bob was also President of the Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce from 1970-1971. For the last 35 years he has been a sales rep in the home furnishings industry.
Bob lived a great life. He loved to travel, football, and especially playing golf. He truly enjoyed each and every day.
He was a wonderful husband, brother, father, father-in-law grandfather and friend to all that knew him. He will be missed forever.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sherry Craig, his brother, Tom Craig of Pompano Beach, Florida; Five daughters, Carrie David [Tom] of Pineville, Louisiana, Candice Miller [Jeff] of Monrovia, California, Crystal Craig Larsen of Lighthouse Point, Florida, Catherine David [Paul] of Mobile, Alabama and Casey Thume [Patrick] of Jupiter, Florida and his ten grandchildren Zachary, Mitchell, Henry, Robert, Athena, Holly, Jimmie Rose, Cheney, Bowen and Riley.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, Florida.
