So sorry to hear of his death. Happy he found happiness with Sheila.
Met Ron @1967 when I moved from Indiana to Pompano Beach. Met him thru church youth group tho not my religion. Such a nice person! He helped me adjust to moving when I was 16 and helped me make new friends in Fl.

A great person and very professional. May he RIP 

I am Ron’s cousin Chuck Postma living in Muskegon, Michigan. Ron was my closest cousin. Obviously not in terms of geography, but after his family moved to Florida we kept in touch with letters, then electronically, and finally on Facebook. My earliest memories of Ron start here in Michigan. I don’t recall which area in West Michigan his family lived in, but as a boy I loved sleep-overs at his house. They had a swimming pool. I remember Uncle Alfred working on repairs of it for one visit when we could not use it. I loved that pool, but could never convince my parents to get one. In those days of limited options you either had a pond with all its issues and creatures, went to a lake, or had an expensive concrete pool. The great times we had around that pool, I’m sure, were the reason I installed one at our own home in Jenison in 1985. Our children, Kari and Ryan, were in it all summer long with their friends. 

After our grandfather passed, and the estate was settled (early 1960’s), Al, Marge, and family packed up and moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After that it was letters, but not very often. We visited Ron two or three times after that. The first time was when I was 16. Ron introduced me to the “Chinese Fire Drill”. We went out with his dad’s red Ford Thunderbird and every time we hit a red light we would jump out of the car and run around it until the light turned green and then jump back in and away we would go. That was the extend of our mischief in those days.

We visited once more in the early 2000’s and met Sheila and Ron and Sheila met our daughter, Kari, and her then-husband Ken Powers. We walked along the seashore catching up. I don’t recall if we dined together during that visit or not. 

Every day I pray for Sheila as she faces the challenges of moving forward with her life without Ron. May God give you courage and peace and stamina to embrace life and live it to its fullest until you and Ron are reunited in glory. Amen.
