I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Coletta's passing. My brother and I studied with him in the 80's for several years. To say he was wonderful is an understatement. He brought me out of my shell with a saxophone and lead me through many classical solos with my flute. I have always been proud to call him my teacher. Many years later, I am now teaching my 2 kids to play flute and clarinet and you must know that they too are studying in the Rubank books! Rest peacefully, sir.

Mr Coletta taught both my kids musical instruments.  Ro taught my daughter how to play the flute. She now plays the oboe. My son played the clarinet, but in order to get into the jazz band he wanted to learn the Saxophone.  Mr Coletta gave my son the gift of jazz.  He played in the jazz band all the way through his senior year of high school. He is now in college but most of his playlists consists of jazz music.  Mr Coletta would play "Take five" for me just to warm up.  He would often point out his photos and ask me if any of these people looked familiar?  I said to him, "are you standing next to Sammy Davis Jr?"  He told us stories how he traveled all over the world.  We will always have great memories of him.  He touched all of our lives.  I knew when I met him he was more than just a teacher.  He put his heart and soul into his music. He loved it and it showed!
