Sandra T. Knapp

Sandy was born on September 17, 1943 in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Thomas and Alva Neighbors.

Sandy spent her life devoted to her Christian faith in the Baptist church and worked as a paralegal until her retirement.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 37 years, William H. Knapp, daughter Kelly Marcrum, son Scott Trexler, son James Knapp and wife Leslee, and former daughter-in-law Tricia Knapp. Sandy was a grandmother, lovingly called "Oma" to seven grandchildren. Jake and Christopher Marcrum; Chasity (deceased), Lakel and Isaiah Trexler; Jessica and Samantha Knapp, as well as great-grandmother to Aria Nuesse.

Sandy was the youngest of six children. She is preceded in death by brother Maurice Neighbors, sisters Katherine "Kaki" Plemmons, Betty Penland, Carolyn Lindsey and survived by sister Martha "Myrt" Brown and her husband Wilfred. She is also leaving cherished memories to her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of loving and faithful friends.

Sandy was the glue that kept us all together. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She will be painfully missed.

The visitation and viewing will take place on Saturday, February 29, 2020 from 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm. Both events will take place at Kraeer Funeral Home at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens
