Kassenoff, Sanford, 81, a Pompano Beach resident passed away on March 1, 2013. Known to most as Sandy and affectionately called Krappa by his great-grandchild and grandchildren, Nolan, Michael, Shira, Jack, and Joe. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Sam; brother, Maurice; and sister-in-law, Marilyn of Toms River, NJ. He is survived by his "Sweetie Pie", Doris Roth; daughter, Debbie(Scott) Sidman of Boca Raton; son, David(Deanna) Kassenoff of Jacksonville; brother, Sidney (Roz) Kassenoff of Toms River, NJ and Julie (Rob) Roth, of NYC as well as many nephews and nieces. Sandy was born in 1932 and grew up in Toms River, NJ on the Kassenoff Modern Hatchery farm. In HS he excelled in sports, student government and enjoyed an active social life. After HS he attended Monmouth University and served in the army as 1st Sgt. during the Korean War at Ft. Leonardwood, Mo. training the troops. After graduation he completed his education at Indiana Univ. School of Business. In 1956 he married Miriam and soon Debbie and David came along. Most of his working life was in the retail business as a manager for Big Scott Discount Stores, Playworld Toys, Swap Shop and Gemini until retirement in 2007. He loved tennis, travel, the NY Yankees,the NY Giants, and the past 23 years he shared with Doris on the beach.
