Sephlyn Prendergast was born on February 4th, 1947 in Harkers Hall, Jamaica. She was the third child of six. She is survived by four sisters (Lilias, Sybil, Velma, and Joan) and two brothers (Winston and Fenton). Her siblings Neville, Yvonne, and Audrey predeceased her.
Sephlyn had a love for working with children, adolescents, and young adults. She was extremely skilled in working with emotionally disturbed teenaged girls, with behavioral, physical, and mental health issues. She spent most of her career working at Montanari Residential Treatment Center where she was recognized as being an unsung hero for many of the clients that she served. She also received additional certifications as a Certified Nursing Assistant and phlebotomist due to her work with geriatric patients.
Sephlyn met Mervin during the fall of 1967. After courting for over two years they married on June 13,1970 and became Sephlyn Marshall. They had four children; Ian, Michael, Omar, and Dale.
Sephyln was an active and loved member of Miami Gospel Chapel and later transferred to Lee Boulevard Baptist Church upon relocating to Lehigh Acres, FL. She was loving, compassionate, forgiving, and faithful. Sephlyn loved God first and foremost and she loved His church and His people. She was a giving person and always put others ahead of herself. She was goodness PERSONIFIED. The impact and the legacy that she leaves behind is one that will be remembered forever.
She leaves to cherish her memory and live out her legacy, her children Ian (daughter-in-law Yolander), Micahel (daughter-in-law Dolores), Omar (daughter-in-law Kay Ann) and Dale; grandchildren Rhea, Rasheed, Tiffany, Michael, and Khaliq; great grandchildren Alex, Rhamari, Dylann, Josiah, Aeron, Liam, and Jamiya; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
