She was born in Lyons, KS on July 21, 1954. Sherry graduated from University High School in Irvine, CA. After growing up in Southern California, she found her home these last thirty-plus years in the Pompano Beach area.
Sherry was a woman of keen perception and incredible wisdom. She was also hilarious, and quick with a broad smile and a big hug. She was beautiful, compassionate, empathetic, loving and generous. She was fun and pure mischief, an angel, but not a saint, always with that smile. A miracle of personality, comprised exclusively of the best traits of people, none of the bad. She was loved by everyone because she was the best of everyone.
Sherry exercised her extraordinary talents as an entrepreneur by successfully owning and managing Chit Chat’s Bar for over 20 years. In this capacity she acted as consultant, friend, confidant, and counsellor to many people in her community. If she saw someone in need, she figured out a way to help them. When she wasn’t at the bar, she loved to fish and was a voracious animal lover, treating her dogs Remy and Marley and her cat, Little One as her kids.
Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Leslie J. Knox and her father, Donald Fulton. She is survived by her step-father Robert V. Knox, her brother, Stan (Beth Ellen) Ethridge, her beloved sister Micki (Kevin) McCarthy, their four children and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and to honor Sherry’s great love of animals, please send memorial gifts to the Broward County Humane Society or Luv-a-Bull All Breed Rescue. The family is deeply grateful to the many who knew and loved Sherry for their outpouring of support, concern and their patience during this exceedingly difficult time. They would also like to thank the Broward County Sherriff’s Office for their diligence and tact. Given the circumstances, the family will lay Sherry to rest in a private ceremony.
