
Stevie attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she played five instruments, but piano was her favorite. She received her undergraduate degree from Wright State University. She completed her master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati where she continued into her doctoral program. Her advisors recommended she take a year off prior to her dissertation to gain additional experience. She borrowed $5,000 from her grandparents to start her own business called SRM, vocational rehabilitation consulting firm. Stevie was later appointed as an expert witness for the State of Ohio regarding workers compensation cases. Her mental illness necessitated her moved to Florida to be near her mother, Louise.
Stevie is survived by her significant other of 15 years, Mark Tassi of Lighthouse Point, the love her of her life along with her constant companion of a pug. She leaves behind her caregiver of four years, Joan McCurrie and her mother, Louise Morley.
There will be a celebration of Stevie’s life on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Unity of Pompano (261 SE 13 Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33060). Monetary donations in Stevie’s name can be sent to All Saints Missions located at 3460 Powerline Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309. No flowers please.
