Thomas (Tom) Edward Casselberry of Coral Springs, passed away on September 8, 2021 at the age of 65. Tom was born on June 25, 1956 in Lake Wales, Florida, and was the eldest child to Hibbard and Martha (Thomas) Casselberry. Raised in Fort Lauderdale, Tom was a dedicated employee of the City of Oakland Park for 33 years, where he worked in Waste Water Management.
Tom was happily married to his wife, Barbara for 28 years, and they delighted in traveling together. Their favorite relaxation spots included the Keys and Florida’s west coast. They also were devoted to frequent visits with Tom's aging parents while they were alive.
Known for being generous and having a loving heart, Tom was committed to friends and family. Many friends recall Tom as being reliable, loyal, and trustworthy, and appreciated his willingness to help when needed with personal projects and within the community.
Tom enjoyed riding motorcycles, sailing, and pushing the limits. At times, the twinkle in his bright blue eyes and sly smirk gave indication to trouble brewing. Tom loved adventure.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Hib and Martha. He is survived by wife, Barbara; step-son, Michael; sisters, Mary (Ray) Thompson and Carol (David) Barnett; brothers, Joe and Billy (Angela); nieces, Kelly (Brett) Williams, Sarah (Adam) Smith, Rachel Thompson; and nephew, Brian (Ashley) Casselberry.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in early 2022. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tom's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Broward County Humane Society.
