1930-2013
Ugo was born on September 16, 1930 in Siracusa, Italy to Maria Bascetta and Cayetano Pocchi. He had three brothers and one sister, Luigi, Guiseppe, Salvatore, and Rosetta. As a young boy, things were difficult for Ugo as he grew up during World War II and had to overcome many obstacles. Although these times were challenging for a young boy, he was able to pursue several interests and develop a love for building. He also enjoyed music, soccer, and swimming.
When he came of age, he enlisted in the Italian Navy (Marina Militare) and served two years. These two years allowed Ugo to develop his love of travel. He was able to visit many places such as Peru, Ecuador, Africa, and Spain.
Soon after, he migrated to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he continued to learn his trade. It was in this city that he met his lovely wife, Elenia Burgos. They were married on October 28, 1961. Elenia and Ugo had one son and two daughters, Tony, Maria, and Susie. They enjoyed thirty-three years of marriage.
He was a loyal and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was honest, intelligent, generous, and caring. Ugo was charming and a great storyteller. As a father and grandfather, he demonstrated that with hard-work, dedication, and determination, you can be successful in life.
We would like to remember Ugo as a person who loved life, his friend’s company, spending time with his granddaughters, and cooking delicious meals.
We will miss his lively company, his engaging stories, and his generous nature.
He is survived by, Tony and his wife Annette, Maria and her husband Jerry, Susie and her husband Fabricio and his four granddaughters, Kaitlyn Jenna, Amanda Ellie, Eleni Victoria, and Julianna Stella.
We yearn for the moment when our loved ones will hear the voice of Jesus Christ and obtain a resurrection of life (John 5:28, 29).
