Anna was a lifetime resident of Pontotoc County. After graduating from high school Anna attended Mississippi College for Women (The W), and the University of Mississippi where she joined and became a life-long supporter of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Soon after graduating Anna returned to Pontotoc and became a teacher, retiring in 1970. She was very active in the community. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a life-long member of the First Presbyterian Church. She served in many capacities at the church, but was most proud of being the church organist and pianist for many years. As one of her last contributions to the church she helped fund the remodel of the kitchen and the 100th year anniversary. Anna was active in the Pontotoc Historical Society and was a driving factor in turning the Post Office into a museum. She was President many times of the Pontotoc Hospital Auxiliary, a member of the Pontotoc Music Club and served as a representative of Pontotoc County for the Tupelo Community Concert Association. She touched many lives.
One of the things Anna was most proud of was serving on the Board of Directors of First Choice Bank and the Pontotoc BancShares Corporation. A granddaughter of the founder, Anna took great pride in her position with the bank and loved and supported her banking family.
