Bernice Reeder

Bernice Todd Reeder, age 90, died Thursday, March 19, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1924 to Joe Todd and Callie Owen Todd. She was a member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Rev. Greg Herndon officiating; burial will follow in the Cherry Creek Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her two daughters: Sue Shumaker of Ecru and Donna Reeder of Pontotoc; two sons: Mike Reeder of Ecru and Jackie Reeder and wife Phyllis, of Pontotoc, MS; two sisters: Peggy Stewart and Betty Miller, both of Pontotoc, MS; seven grandchildren: Michele Whatley (Bill), Joey Reeder (Christy), Jason Shumaker (Jessica), Daniel Shumaker (Diana), Carla Howe (Burnie), Bonnie Wilson and Brian Pound; and six great-grandchildren: Samuel Reeder Whatley, Audrey Shumaker, Valerie Tutor, Corie Lucroy, Drake Merritt and Dayn Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Burns Reeder; two sisters: Frances Windham and Dorothy McCullough Pitts; three brothers: Pete Todd, Herbert Todd and Bobby Joe Todd; a grandson: Todd Reeder and a great-grandson: Harrison Burns Whatley.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Shumaker, Daniel Shumaker, Bill Whatley, Joey Reeder, Ellis Reeder and Jerry McCullough.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday and from 12 to 2 PM Saturday.
